NASHVILLE – The Nashville Scrappers broke their five-game losing streak last week with a win a dramatic win over Ashdown.
The Scrappers now hopes to build on that success this week with a game against Pulaski Robinson. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Scrapper Stadium.
Nashville enters the game with a 2-5 record and only 1-3 in the district.
However, after the last minute, come-from-behind win over Ashdown, there is new hope for the Nashville program.
“The win helped with the confidence and brought their spirits up, especially to win that dramatically and come from behind like we did,” said Nashville head coach Tim Perry.
“We’ve told the players over and over that we’re a much better team than what we’ve been playing. Finally, after so many weeks, we were able to get some breaks to go our way,” added Perry.
And although the Scrappers have only one win in the district, the team is still alive for a spot in the state playoffs, which begin next month.
A total of five teams will advance to the post season from the 7-4A, and the Scrappers hope to be one of those teams.
