SCRAPPERS DEFEAT DeQUEEN

Scrappers advance to quarterfinals with win over rival Leopards.
Nashville avenged a mid-season loss to De Queen Friday night in the 2nd round of the playoffs, 28 to 21. The two teams traded touchdowns in the first half..with the game tied at 14 all at the midway point. During
the second half, Nashville relied on big plays from the offense and defense to secure the victory. Offensively, Nashville completed a
pair of touchdown passes..while on the defense, the Scrappers were able to secure a pair of turnovers in the last five minutes to
hang on for the 28 to 21 win. Lavonte Thomas caught several passes as a Scrapper receiver..but his last reception came on the
defense, when he intercepted a De Queen pass with less than 2 minutes remaining. The interception allowed Nashville to run out
the clock.  Scrapper quarterback Joel Hendry threw for more than 200 yards on the night...along with gaining almost 90 rushing
yards.  The Scrappers will be on the road again next week..traveling for the 2nd time this season, to Malvern in the 4A state
quarterfinals.
