BILLY DAWSON TO RETURN AS SCRAPPER COACH

AFTER TWO YEARS AWAY, DAWSON BACK TO MENTOR SCRAPPERS

Billy Dawson has been named as the new Scrapper Football coach. Dawson was officially hired by the Nashville School board at it's regular scheduled meeting on January 17, 2012.  Dawson resigned after the 2009 season to become pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church.  He announced to his congregation on Sunday that he had accepted another position and was waiting on it to become official this week.

Superintendent Douglas Graham announced that there were 14 official applicants and no one else was interviewed. "Considering Dawson's past work in the Nashville School Distict, he was the obvious choice to replace Tim Perry."  Coach Dawson will start full time later this spring.

During Dawson's five year stint as Scrapper coach, he accumulated a 65-4 record and three state championships.  He will meet with the 2012 Scrappers for the first time on Wednesday.
