MVP Goes To Scrapper Lineman

Senior Jared Morrow was named the Nashville Scrappers’

Most Valuable Player Saturday night at the conclusion of the

52nd Rotary Club Football Banquet.

The MVP presentation was the climax for a night of awards for

the 2011 Scrappers, who advanced to the state quarterfinals.

Chris Carroll received the Academic Award, which goes to the

senior with the highest gradepoint average on the team.

Carroll has a 3.875 GPA and is 10th in his class, according to

Coach Tim Perry.

Position coaches presented a number of awards to their players.

They include the following:

Outstanding Offensive Lineman - Jared Morrow.

Outstanding Receiver - Tesean Green.

Outstanding Offensive Back - JaKaree Gaines.

Outstanding Defensive Lineman - Chris Carroll.

Outstanding Linebacker - Johnathan Nguyen.

Outstanding Defensive Back - Austin Lovelis.

Outstanding Special Teams Player - Jacolby Crow.

Champions Awards were announced by Perry. “They go to somebody who gave his best effort every day. These players are coachable. They listened.” Blake Hockaday was the winner on offense.
